Architectural Description: 30 Commercial St is a 2-story, 4 bay side gable dwelling with 1-story rear addition; The exterior is clad in wood shingles with a band of fish scale shingles across each story; Primary entrance has a full-width porch with hipped roof; porch features turned posts, spindle work balustrades, and brick porch deck; Fenestration includes paired and single 2/2 DHS windows with wood surrounds and storms; Side-gable roof is clad in asphalt shingles and has a central brick chimney; storms present on doors; Rear ell has concrete block foundation; East facade of rear ell features entry with screen and sliding glass door; North facade of rear ell features entry with storm door with jalousie window and irregular roof with large single-pane window to allow for northern light. |

Historical Narrative: As per Josephine Del Deo (1976)
This residence is the home of Jack Tworkov. He has built his studio in the rear of the house (see photographs of Point Street, West End District album) and the type of artistic development here. Mr. Tworkov is a former professor of painting at Yale University and is well-known painter of the Abstract Expressionist School, having been a resident of Provincetown for many years. His sister, Janice Biala, was also a painter. Many of Jack Tworkov's paintings are in museums throughout the country and he is represented in numerous private collections.
