Architectural Description: 144 Commercial St. is a 2-1/2-story, 3-bay, Italianate-style mixed-use dwelling; gable-front roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles, paired cornice brackets, skylights; exterior is clad in wood shingles with wood trim; building sits on a brick foundation; fenestration includes a 1st-story bay window with 1/1 DHS and single-light display windows and 2/1 replacement DHS windows on front facade, 2/2 DHS with storms on right side facade, 2/2 and 2/1 DHS replacements and single-light storefront windows on left side facade, 2/1 replacement DHS on rear facade, 3-light basement windows; primary entrance is accessed by a pane-and-panel door with a wood storm door, entablature, and paired brackets; porch has decorative solid bracket at porch end and balustrade; 2nd story overhangs 1st story; secondary entry on left side facade is accessed by a pane-and-panel door; rear facade contains exterior staircase and deck to 2nd-story entrance; rear gable ell addition and 1-story hipped roof addition. |
