Architectural Description: The outbuilding at 488-490 Commercial St. is a 1-story, 2-bay cottage; gable-front roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles, partial cornice returns, skylight, interior brick chimney on side roof slope; exterior is clad in clapboard siding on front facade with wood shingles on the secondary facades, wood trim; building sits on a concrete block foundation; fenestration includes a multi-light hipped-roof canted bay window, 2/2 DHS windows, left side facade contains 8-light and single-light replacement paired casements with inoperable shutters, right facade contains 6/6 replacement DHS; main primary entrance is accessed by a panel door and storm door that are sheltered by a pediment hood supported by brackets; frieze board and a stuccoed cornice; secondary entry on left side facade; rear addition.
