Architectural Description: 323 Commercial St. is a 2-story, 3-bay commercial building; gable-front roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles, boxed cornice with partial return; exterior is clad in shaped wood shingles with wood corner boards and trim; building sits on a brick foundation; fenestration includes 2/2 DHS wood windows and surrounds, plate glass storefront windows; recessed primary entrance with replacement door containing porthole window in center; 1st-story cornice; exterior staircase to 2nd-story side entrance.
Historical Narrative: As per Tom Boland (1994): The structure first appears on the atlas of 1880 and was owned by E. Gayland. In 1901-1907, it was the home of Mrs. Charles Baker. In the mid-20th century, the house was converted to use as a bar on the first floor and a studio above.
