Architectural Description: 508 Commercial Street is a 1-1/2-story, 5-bay dwelling; it may be a heavily altered cottage; side-gable roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles; central brick chimney at the roof ridge; exterior is clad in vinyl siding, with wood shingles on the entry vestibule and clapboard siding on the shed dormer; fenestration includes 2/2 and 1/1 DHS with inoperable shutters, right side facade contains paired casements in gable end; the primary entrance is located in a gable-roof vestibule; rear ell has secondary entry with metal board and gable dormer with paired 2/1 wood DHS. According to a previous survey, major alterations occurred circa 1965. A full-width shed dormer was added to the front roof slope, with paired casement windows; also a shed dormer on rear.
