Borkowski Collection
Overview
A student of history since adolescence when Mrs. Henry N. Flynt, a mentor and founder of Historic Deerfield along with her husband, arranged for me to become a guide there, my keen interest in history has grown since arriving in Provincetown in the mid-1980’s. I have collected materials and studied the various areas that have interested me about Provincetown, regardless of their seeming randomness, which began with a chance purchase of some glass plate negatives that touched off a quest to understand the history of the art colony. My work with the Town of Provincetown Art Collection further informed me. Other avenues of historical exploration presented themselves during my research into the lives of Edna Boies Hopkins, Blanche Lazzell and E. Ambrose Webster.
