Kelly's Corner 037 - Crickets, Goldfinch, Summer Blooms, Cicada, Aurora & Tithonus
Jan Kelly writes a weekly column for Provincetown Magazine. In this issue Jan points out the changes in the natural world as summer moves from June to August and tells the tale of Aurora, goddess of dawn, who asked the gods to grant Tithonus immortality but neglected to ask for him to remain eternally young. His old age chattering so upsets her that she turns him into a cicada, who lives around us in August and lets us know that summer is coming to an end.
