Barbarians - 1960's Home-grown rock band
The Barbarians, a Provincetown born and bred boyband of the 1960's, were, perhaps the first ever punk group according to a 1992 article in Goldmine Magazine by Matt Whorf. Their biggest hit single (#55 out of 100 on Billboard's Hot Chart in 1965),'Are You A Boy Or Are You A Girl?' derived from the then controversial issue of long-haired white male rock stars.
