The Castle Murchison

A photograph of the home of Dr. & Mrs. Carl Murchison, located at 2 Commercial Street, which was destroyed by fire in May 1956 while the family was vacationing in Quinto, Equador. Dr. Murchison vowed to rebuild what was known as "Castle Murchison", stating "The house will be modernistic, just as different from the old as it can be." The photograph was loaned to the Provincetown History Project by Richard Faust.
