Records of Overseers of the Poor 1886-1894
A handwritten record book, penned by Marshall L. Adams, documenting the details of meetings, discussions of cases, and disposition of funds for care by the Overseers of the Poor between 1886 and 1894. Some of the indigent citizens of Provincetown resided at the Almshouse originally located at 26 Alden Street. The town seems to have taken very seriously the care of its less fortunate citizens and provided for them as best it could. | |
