State Rep. Gomes An Anomoly
Cape Cod times article dated February 13, 2004 highlighting State Representative Shirley Gomes, a republican whose district includes Provincetown, and who voted in favor of amendments to the State constitution that would prevent same sex marriages. In 2006 Shirley Gomes decided not to run and Provincetown resident Sarah K. Peake, a Democrat, was elected as State Representative for the Fourth District - consisting of the towns of Chatham, Eastham, Harwich, Orleans, Provincetown, Truro, and Wellfleet.
