Newspaper account of Nellie Barnes who, having been raised by an aunt and uncle, had a soft spot in her heart for motherless children and artists. She cooked for and took care of many of the art students who came to town, along with Charles Hawthorne, and was especially devoted to providing all of them with their favorite meals. Also, two postcard photos of art students on the beach and on a wharf taking classes in 1927 and 1928. | |
