Provincetown-Boston Airlines - Slide Show of the Early Years
Provincetown Boston Airlines Slideshow; John Van Arsdale producer from provincetowntv on Vimeo.

A 16 minute film of a slide show conducted by John Van Arsdale, founder of Provincetown-Boston Airlines (PBA), featuring the early years of the airline from the 1950's through the 1970's. The slide show was presented at the Pilgrim Monument and Museum in the 1980's.

PBA was founded November 30, 1949. Van Arsdale learned how to fly from his father at a young age. He became the manager of the Provincetown Airport and started giving local residents rides to Boston in his airplane. Soon, Van Arsdale learned that people liked the idea of taking a 20 minute flight across the bay, and started the airline. He did the flying, while his wife Betty worked at the airport taking reservations. PBA expanded in 1953 to include more airplanes and pilots.
| |
