Architectural Description: The first building at 422 Commercial St. is located at the front of property; 1-1/2-story, 8-bay, Italianate-style dwelling; cross-gable roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles, concrete block chimney; exterior is clad in wood shingles with wood trim; building sits on a brick foundation; fenestration includes 2/1 DHS replacement windows; the main entrance is accessed by a replacement door with a storm door and 6-light sidelights; deck on front facade with balustrade; Italianate details include flat hoods over doors with modillion cornice and supported by elaborate end brackets; two gable dormers in front ell; entablature cornice and corner pilasters.
