Architectural Description: 412 Commercial St. is a 1-1/2-story, 3-bay, Greek Revival-style sidehall cottage; gable-front roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles, partial cornice returns, full-width shed dormer on side roof slope; exterior is clad in wood shingles with wood corner pilasters and trim; building sits on a brick foundation; fenestration includes 6/1 DHS and 4/4 DHS replacements with snap-in muntins, 6/1 DHS in shed dormer, simple wood trim around windows; primary entrance is accessed by an aluminum storm door; simple door surround with entablature, fluted pilasters and 5-pane sidelights; entrance is sheltered by a 1-story hipped-roof porch supported by Doric columns on a wood deck with wood steps; square bay window added on 2nd story of front facade and 1st story of side facade; new siding and roof installed c.2003; secondary entrance on right side facade near rear; roof deck on 1-story rear section.
