Architectural Description: 6 Johnson Street is a 2-story, 2-bay sidehall residence with 2-story rear addition. Mansard roof with shed dormers encompasses 2nd story; brick chimney at roof ridge; elaborate frieze with brackets. The main entry consists of double doors with arched pane and panels; storm doors. Flat roof entry porch with Doric columns, knee braces, pilasters, and brackets below the eaves. Brick stoop. A secondary entry with flat hood and end brackets is located on the south facade. Fenestration includes a canted bay with 2/2 wood DHS and modillioned cornice; 2-story canted bay on south facade with details similar to front bay. Single windows have wood surround. The 2-story addition on the rear has exterior steps to a 2nd-story entry. 1 window location closed off but trim remaining on north facade. Windows generally 2/2 DHS wood. |
