Architectural Description: 485 Commercial St. is a 2-story, 3-bay, Federal-style dwelling; hipped roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles; exterior is clad in wood shingles wit wood trim; building sits on a brick foundation; fenestration includes 2/2 wood DHS and modern vinyl casement windows; replacement door on side facade is reached by a wood ramp.
Historical Narrative: As per Tom Boland (1994): "The structure at #485 Commercial Street although currently a residence, may have been the site of the H. & S. Cook store at the head of the H. & S. Cook & Company wharf previously located at this site. On the 1880 map, it is merely noted as a store and it is not until 1907 that it is noted as being owned by J. Souza."
