Architectural Description: 234 Commercial St. is a 2-story, 2-bay, Second Empire-style commercial building; mansard roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles; exterior is clad in clapboard siding on the front facade and wood shingles on the secondary facades with wood corner boards and trim; building sits on a brick foundation; fenestration includes 1/1 vinyl DHS, 2/2 DHS replacement, 2-story canted bay window with denticulated cornices, multi-light bow window with wood trim, flat denticulated wood window hood; primary entrance is accessed by paired replacement entry doors; 1-story flat-roof porch with turned posts, wood brackets, spindlework frieze, pendants, and metal balustrade; east facade contains a "Union Square" clock tower with cone-shaped roof, pedimented arches over octagonal windows; braided corners on 2-story bay on front facade .
