Architectural Description: 188 Commercial St. is a 3-story, 3-bay Greek Revival-style mixed-use commercial/multi-family residential building; gable-front roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles, exterior is clad in wood shingles with wood pilaster corner boards and trim; building sits on a brick foundation; fenestration includes plate glass display windows on storefront, 6/6 DHS, triple single-pane casements; 6-pane replacement window in gable end; right side facade has 6/6 and 1/1 DHS, left side facade has 6/6 wood DHS with canted bay windows on the 2nd story; most windows have storm windows and inoperable shutters; primary entrance is accessed by a recessed pane-and-panel door in the storefront's center bay; pent roof over storefront wraps around corners to side facades; multiple secondary entrances with storm doors on left side facade; corner pilasters only reach to top of 2nd story; exterior staircases and decks to alternate entrances at all levels; rear facade contains a 1-story roof-top addition.
