Architectural Description: 414 Commercial St. is a 1-1/2-story, 3-bay, vernacular Greek Revival-style sidehall cottage; gable-front roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles, partial cornice returns; exterior is clad in wood shingles with wood trim; building sits on a brick foundation; fenestration includes 2/2 DHS wood windows with storms, rear facade has 6/6 DHS, 2/2 DHS in gable end and 1/1 on 1st story, wood surrounds; primary entrance is accessed by a pane-and-panel door and an aluminum storm door with a simple wood door surround; concrete stoop at entrance; left side facade has a gabled projecting wall dormer with 2/1 DHS, square bay window with 2/1 DHS and 6/6 DHS, and secondary entry with shed hood and small end brackets; rear facade has secondary entry. |
