Historic District Survey information for 604 Commercial St
Architectural Description: 604 Commercial Street is a 1-1/2-story, 2-bay 1/2 cottage with side ell. The side ell and large multi-pane window may have been added c. 1910. The front-gable roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles and has partial cornice returns. The dwelling is clad in clapboard siding with wood corner boards and trim. There is simple wood trim around the 2/2 DHS wood gable end window. The door is a replacement door with storm. A deck porch extended across the main portion of the front facade until 2004 when it was removed. A shed dormer is located on the left roof slope. The right side facade contains a large 4-light window near front. Building is currently jacked-up on blocks, for installation of new foundation.
