Architectural Description: 15 Alden Street is a 1 1/2-story, 3-bay sidehall dwelling clad in wood shingles. The front-gable roof is clad in asphalt shingles; partial returns. Gable dormer on south roof slope; gable wall dormer on north; exposed rafters under 1-story section on east; interior concrete block chimney at peak. Corner boards and frieze frame facades. The former main entry, facing the street, contains a pane and panel door with wood surround, flat hood with decorative end brackets, suspended with no step access. The primary entrance is now on south side, and it includes a pane and panel aluminum wood door with modern storm, accessed by brick steps. Fenestration includes 2/2 vinyl DHS. A 1-story rear section (east) has an entry door, also facing south near the rear. The door and steps are the same as the current primary entry on this facade, described above. Corner boards and frieze are also present on this 1-story section.. |
