Architectural Description: 478 Commercial St. is a 2-story, 3-bay, Colonial Revival-style dwelling; pyramidal roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles, central brick chimney; exterior is clad in asbestos siding; building sits on a parged foundation; fenestration includes 2/1 wood DHS, 1/1 DHS, right side facade has 1/2 DHS and one multi-light Queen Anne window, windows have wood surrounds; primary entrance is accessed by a single leaf door with a storm door, entrance is sheltered by a partially enclosed full-width porch with chamfered porch posts and knee braces, wood steps and deck; left side facade has historic door; "BA" at entry to property.
Historical Narrative: As per Tom Boland (1994): "The first notation of a house at this site is in the 1907 atlas where it is listed as being owned by W.E. Baker. The rear garage is an early example of such an ancillary structure and may date to the construction of the house."
