Historic District Survey information for 4 Conant St
Architectural Description: This is a 2-story, 3-bay former sidehall cottage. Clapboard clads the primary facade, and wood shingle on secondary facades. The front-gable roof has partial returns and cornice. Large shed dormers are located on each roof slope. Corner pilasters frame the facades. The main entry is a pane and panel door reached by a concrete stoop. A flat hood over the door is supported by pendanted end brackets. Windows are 2/2 DHS wood with storms and wood surrounds. A 3/3 DHS wheel window is located in the 2nd story above the door. Sliding windows are located in the shed dormer on the north roof slope. Louvered shutters are present. There are 2 rear sections - a 2-story section and a 1-story section. A roof deck is located above the 1-story section. (see building to the right in photo above)
