Architectural Description: This is a 1 1/2-story, 5-bay center entry cottage with a rear ell. The cottage faces Soper Street, while a secondary entrance on the ell faces Tremont Street. The Soper Street facade has a multi-pane over panel entry door with storm, and simple surround with entablature. The secondary entrance is a 4-pane and panel door with wood screen. The foundation is stucco. Wood steps lead to the door. Windows are 6/6 replacement DHS. Window trim is similar to door. A gabled wall dormer is located on the rear roof slope. There are 2 gable dormers on the Tremont Street roof slope (south) in the rear ell. Fenestration is similar to Soper Street facade, except the door has small flat hood supported by pendant end brackets. 6/6 and 1/1 DHS are present on the east gable end. A 1-story shed roof section on the north side has a roof deck above. Exterior steps lead to a 2nd-story entrance at this deck, which forms a gable wall dormer on the western facade. An additional 1-story addition with shed roof is located just east of the north gable end of the main building section. |
