Architectural Description: 12 Pearl St is a 2-story, 4-bay 3/4 cottage with a 1-story addition. The building is clad in wood shingles, with bands of patterned shingles - regular, diamond and staggered. Hipped roof has brick chimney at ridge; brackets line frieze below eaves. 2nd story flares out slightly when it meets the 1st story. Main entry consists of a pane and panel door with storm; hipped hood with elaborate end brackets; brick stoop with metal railing. Fenestration includes 2/1 wood DHS with storms; inoperable lower shutters; Queen Anne window on north facade of 1-story addition; 6/6 and 3/3 DHS and paired single-light awning windows on rear ell. 2-story gable roof rear ell with 1-story irregular shed roof addition. A secondary entrance is located on the rear. |
