Architectural Description: 430 Commercial St. is a 3-story, 3-bay, Italianate-style dwelling converted to commercial use; gable-front roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles, full cornice return with paired brackets; exterior is clad in wood shingles with clapboard siding on the rear facade; building sits on a brick foundation; fenestration includes 6/6 wood DHS with inoperable louvered shutters, bay window with single-pane fixed sash and a 6-light window, wood 2/2 DHS, replacement 6/6 DHS, multi-light bay window at basement level, multi-light wood window in rear gable end, wood lintels and surrounds; raised basement with hipped-roof entry and storefront partially below grade; Dutch door with 9-lights in upper leaf and a wood panel lower leaf; right side facade has a central door with flat hood supported by end brackets with pendants, door is reached by wood steps; rear facade has wood steps to entry, small hood over rear door is deteriorating, paired brackets at cornice, shed dormer with 2/2 DHS. |
