Architectural Description: 627 Commercial St. is a 2-story, 7-bay dwelling; side-gable roof with jerkinhead front ell is sheathed in asphalt shingles; stuccoed interior chimney; hipped dormer on front roof slope; exterior is clad in brick; fenestration includes paired 1/1 vinyl DHS, 8-light wood casements, paired 4/1 wood DHS, 6/1 wood DHS; 6-light wood awning, and 3-pane wood casements at basement, two 6-light wood awning windows in hipped dormer, fixed and single-light windows on gable end, bay on side facade with 9/1 wood DHS; primary entrance is accessed by a panel wood door with modern abstract stained glass sidelights and fanlight; entrance is sheltered by a segmental-arch portico supported by Doric columns; entrance on side facade is sheltered by a flat Italianate hood; catslide extends on south facade creating shed roof for 1st-story porch supported by square balusters; rear ell contains paired 8/1 wood DHS and triple 6/1 wood DHS.
