Architectural Description: 26 Commercial St is a 1 1/2-story, 5-bay full cottage with a 1-story hipped roof rear ell. The exterior is clad with clapboard on front and wood shingles on the sides. The side gable roof contains a simple box cornice and frieze, a central parged ridge chimney, skylight, and a balcony on the rear slope; the central primary entrance contains a 4-panel/2pane door with fluted pilasters and entablature, wood steps and full-width deck across the front facade; the rear facade also contains a wood deck; windows are generally 6/6 DHS windows with operable plank shutters; the west facade also contains a 2-light casement.
