Architectural Description: 584 Commercial St. is a 2-story, 3-bay dwelling; mansard roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles; gable wall dormers; two brick chimneys; exterior is clad in clapboard siding with wood trim; fenestration includes 2/2 DHS with storms; left side facade has gabled dormer with 2/2 DHS and scrollwork at base; 1st floor cornice with bracketed eaves; front canted bay windows with brackets and bracketed flat window hoods; primary entrance in center bay is sheltered by flat door hood; entry has wood deck and steps; denticulated cornice with paired pendant brackets; same on window hoods with single end brackets; secondary entry with panel door and wood and glass storm door with flat hood supported by end brackets and pendants; rear facade has entry with panel door with storm door.
Historical Narrative: As per Tom Boland (1994): #584 Commercial Street was owned by R. Swift, probably its first owner, in 1880. By 1907, the ownership had changed to a M.H. Worthen.
