Architectural Description: 213 Commercial St. is a 2-1/2-story, 5-bay Italianate-style commercial building; gable-front roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles, 2nd-story entablature cornice with full return, interior brick chimney at roof ridge; exterior is clad in clapboard siding with wood trim; building sits on a brick foundation; fenestration includes 9-pane wood commercial windows on storefront, 2/2 wood DHS with original window trim, oriel window with square wood shingles on side facade; primary entrance is accessed by three historic wood pane-and-panel doors with single-pane transoms, two for 1st-story retail space and one for upper-story apartments; 1st-story storefront has Italianate-style cornice with scroll-sawn brackets and dentils; 1st- and 2nd-story additions on south facade are clad in wood shingles and contain 1/1 vinyl DHS. |
