Architectural Description: 444 Commercial St. is a 1-1/2-story, 3-bay, astylistic commercial building; gable-front roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles, partial cornice return, full-width shed dormers on side roof slopes; exterior is clad in clapboard siding with wood trim; building sits on a concrete block foundation; fenestration includes Chicago-style window in gable end with single-light casements, paired vinyl casements, sliding windows and 1/1 DHS, 6/1 DHS in shed dormers; recessed primary entrance is flanked by bays with fixed pane display windows; simple box cornice above storefront; , left side dormer has a doorway that is accessed by an exterior staircase; 2-1/2-story residential addition on rear facade, c. 1980s; rear facade has exterior open staircase to 2nd-story entry, 1st-story entry at rear of shed-roof addition.
