Historic District Survey information for 7 Pleasant St
Architectural Description: 1 1/2-story, 4-bay, roof clad in wood shingle; dentils under 1st floor roofline; partial cornice returns; fluted pilasters flank building, rear shed dormer; primary entrance contains replacement pane and panel door with fanlight incorporated and flanked by fluted pilasters; fenestration includes historic 6/6 wood DHS with wood surrounds in front facade, paired windows in shed dormer on front with modern oval window in center, 1/1 vinyl DHS on south side; 2-bay side gable section setback from front facade on south side with concrete block foundation, paired large light modern door with wide single-pane sidelights, new Palladian window in gable end
Historical Narrative: 8 Pleasant Street house went through major renovations between 1999 and 2001. Pictures from the tax assessor reveal that the roof was changed from side gable to side gambrel. It is possible that the original structure was raised from a 1 1/2-story side gable, to a 2-story side-gable and then to a 1 1/2-story side gambrel
