Architectural Description: 136 Commercial St. is a 2-1/2-story, 2-bay dwelling converted to commercial and multi-family residential use; gable-front roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles with shed dormers on side roof slopes; exterior is clad in clapboard on the first story with patterned wood shingles on the upper stories, building sits on a brick foundation; fenestration includes multi-pane display window on storefront, single 6/6 DHS, tripartite window in gable end with 6/6 DHS, 4-light casements, and 6/6 and 12/12 replacement vinyl DHS on side facade; primary entrance is accessed by a 15-pane replacement door with single-light transom located in 1st-story projecting storefront; 2nd-story balcony has a modern wood balustrade; secondary balcony entries are accessed by 15-pane replacement doors with single-pane transoms; rear facade contains a secondary entrance; exterior wood staircase to upper-story decks provides access to multiple entry points.
