Architectural Description: 386 Commercial St. is a 1-1/2-story, 2-bay Greek Revival-style dwelling converted to restaurant use; gable-front roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles, partial cornice returns, brick chimney, gable and shed dormers; exterior is clad in clapboard siding with wood corner pilasters and trim; building sits on a raised brick foundation; fenestration includes 2/2 DHS wood windows, 6/6 DHS in dormers, bow window clad in wood shingles, continuous single-light casements, storm windows; primary entrance is a recessed sidehall entry with storm door and sidelights reached by wood steps; additions on side to accommodate restaurant use; restaurant addition accessed by a band of single-pane doors across the front facade and a 2nd-story deck covered by a canvas awning in season. |
