Architectural Description: 8 Pleasant Street is a 1 1/2-story, 4-bay 3/4 cottage with a 1 1/2-story addition. The main building section has a side gable roof with partial returns and large shed dormers on the front an drear facades, creating second story space. The southern building section has a side gable roof with gable dormer. The main entry is a panel door with storm, reached by a brick stoop with metal railings. The surround includes fluted pilasters and a broken pediment, indicating Colonial Revival style. A basement level entry is located on the north facade. Windows are replacement 6/6 DHS with false divided lights and storms. The southern building section has a bow window with false-divided diamond-pane casements. Shutters are applied. The main building section is on a concrete block foundation, while the secondary section, at the south end, is on a brick foundation. |
