Architectural Description: Address in field: 587-589 Commercial Street; 587 Commercial St. is a 2-1/2-story, 3-bay dwelling; gable-front roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles; full cornice return on north side, partial returns on south side; interior brick chimney on side roof slope near ridge; exterior is clad in clapboard siding; fenestration includes 2/1, 1/1 vinyl DHS windows, canted bay windows on 2nd story of front and side facades, gable dormer with partial returns and 2/1 wood DHS, 6/6 wood DHS on the south side with paired multi-pane wood French doors; two entries on 1st floor, and exterior steps leading to entry at rear; shed-roof porch supported by chamfered posts; exterior steps on side wraps around to south side as a 2nd-story porch; front porch deck is on a slant like a ramp. |

Historical Narrative: According to neighbor, this house was owned by the last lighthouse keeper who once resided and also owned 584 Commercial Street. The present owner of #584, this building housed someone who assisted the lighthouse keeper and part of the downstairs on the south side was used to bring (or house) boats in from the water.
