Architectural Description: 184 Commercial St. is a 2-1/2-story, 3-bay, Greek Revival-style mixed use building; gable-front roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles, full cornice return; exterior is clad in wood shingles with wood corner boards and trim; building sits on a brick foundation; fenestration includes paired and single 1/1 vinyl DHS with canvas awnings on first story; primary entrance is accessed by paired replacement doors with fluted pilasters and a small entablature; large 2-1/2-story, 5-bay-deep rear extension is likely a later addition; rear extension is clad in clapboard on the front facade and wood shingles on the remaining facades; rear extension is lit by 1/1 DHS, 2/2 DHS and 6/6 wood DHS, with an octagonal attic window in the gable end; L-shaped rear section on right side facade is lit by 6/6 replacement and historic DHS, with storm windows and wood trim. |
