Architectural Description: 389-393 Commercial St. is a pair of 2-1/2-story, 3-bay, vernacular Greek Revival-style commercial buildings connected by a small modern 1-story connecting building; the gable-front roofs are sheathed in asphalt shingles, partial cornice returns, modern skylights, exterior brick and concrete block chimneys; the exteriors are clad in clapboard siding on the front facades and wood shingles on the secondary facades with wood corner pilasters and trim; fenestration includes 1/1 vinyl DHS, 2/2 wood DHS, fixed storefront windows; both buildings are accessed by a central storefront entrance; one storefront is sheltered by a full-width hipped hood supported by oversize knee braces . The 1-story center connecting structure has a side-gable roof sheathed in asphalt shingles, and is accessed by two large-pane replacement doors.
