Architectural Description: 142 Commercial St. is a 3-story, 3-bay residential building that has been converted to commercial use; the astylistic building has been heavily altered, including 1-story and 2-story additions on the front facade; side-gable roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles, shed dormer on front roof slope; exterior is clad in wood shingles and clapboard siding; building sits on a brick foundation with a stucco-clad foundation supporting the front additions; fenestration includes plate glass storefront windows, side facades contain 1/1 replacement DHS; primary entrance is accessed by glass panel door in center bay; left side facade has multiple ground floor entrances; 2nd-story deck with unfinished wood balustrade on front facade; exterior staircase to top floor entrance; right side facade has exterior staircase to upper entrance with a sliding glass door and pane-and-panel door; 1-story, gable-roof ell on rear facade has skylights, single-light casement and 1/1 DHS; rear entrance is accessed by pane-and-panel door with storm door and deck.
