Historic District Survey information for 6 Pearl St
Architectural Description: 6 Pearl Street is a 2-story, 4-bay dwelling with entry in 1-story southern addition. Side gambrel roof has shed dormers in roof slopes. The building is clad in wood shingles, with bands of staggered shingles on roof slope and facades. The southern 1-story addition contains the main entry door, facing Pearl Street. The door is an oval pane and panel door. This addition has a roof deck above, accessed by 2nd story door in main gable end. Deck has battered piers at corners, clad in wood shingles. Fenestration includes multi-light-over-1 stained glass Queen Anne windows; running 1/1 wood DHS in south end of addition. The rear 2-story section is clad in wood shingles and shaped metal shingle siding.
Historical Narrative: As per Tom Boland (1994): The first notation for this house is in 1880 where it is listed as owned by H. Cook. Ownership remained in the Cook family until the early part of the 20th century when W. Cook is listed as the resident in the 1907 atlas. This building underwent a major renovation circa 2003, including the total renovation of the interior, as well as exterior work.
