Architectural Description: 17 West Vine Street is composed of two dwellings connected by a hyphen. The larger section is 1-1/2-story, 3-bay, 1/2 cottage; side-gable roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles; fenestration includes 1/1 vinyl DHS windows throughout; main entrance is located on the right side of the front facade and contains a modern storm door that is reached by wood steps; gable dormer on front roof slope is clad in wood shingles; A 1-story, gable-roof hyphen on the rear facade connects this structure with a slightly smaller one behind it. The hyphen has a skylight and paired 1/1 vinyl DHS. The smaller dwelling is a 1-1/2-story, 2-bay structure; side-gable roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles; exterior brick chimney; fenestration includes a canted bay window with 1/1 vinyl DHS and a single-pane wood awning window; entrance is accessed by a multi-pane wood door with modern aluminum storm door; and a skylight on the front (west) roof slope. |
