Architectural Description: This is a 2-story, 5-bay building with additions. The side gable roof is clad in asphalt shingles, has partial cornice returns, frieze below the eaves, and interior brick chimney at the roof ridge. A large hipped roof dormer on the west roof slope accommodates a 2-story enclosed porch across part of the front (west) facade. Exterior stairs reach a second-story sliding glass door entry here. Historically, the building faced southward toward Commercial Street. Two entry doors are located on the south facade, and these contain modern full-pane doors with cloth arched awnings. Fenestration is varied, including 6/6 DHS wood windows with wood surrounds; a modern squared Palladian window in the south gable end with 8/8 vinyl window flanked by 6/6 vinyl windows, and; wood full-height fixed windows (1st-story) and 6-pane vinyl casements (2nd story) in the 2-story enclosed porch. A 1-story gable -roof addition is located at the north gable end of the main block. |
