Historic District Survey information for 3 Prince St

Architectural Description: 3 Prince Street is a 1 1/2-story, 5-bay, 3/4 cottage with a large rear ell. The side gable roof is clad in wood shingles and includes two gable dormers and a rebuilt brick chimney at the roof ridge. The primary entrance includes a four-panel door flanked by five-light sidelights and wide wood surround. Fenestration includes 2/1 and 12/6 wood DHS with aluminum storms.

Historical Narrative: The earliest concrete evidence of #3 Prince Street is its location on the 1836 map. According to the 1886 director, Antone Flores, a fisherman, resided here. The 1858 atlas noted that the ownership changed to D. Crocker. By 1880, the owner is listed as Mr. G. King who continued ownership through 1907.
