Newspaper article about Shaw's Store at 491 Commercial St. closing its doors and ending a long tradition of a general store in that location. Formerly owned and run by Josiah Swift for 35 years, it had been sold to Irv Freeman in the late 1930's who ran it for over twenty years before selling to John Shaw. In the 1960's the storefront became the East End Gallery. Also a newspaper obituary for Irv Freeman who died in October 1960 at age 85. Two postcard photos of Irv Freeman's house circa 1921, down the lane opposite his general store, which later became Chesco's restaurant.
