Nautilus Club Scrapbook #1

Nautilus Club Scrapbook #1
The first scrapbook of the Nautilus Club. The Nautilus Club of Provincetown came into existence February 15, 1907, when seven enthusiastic ladies of the town met at the home of Miss Hannah Holway and organized. The club was named "The Nautilus" as the women could think of no more appropriate name for a club on the end of Cape Cod. Their motto was "Read, Mark, Learn and Inwardly Digest," and the club colors were pink and silver. The club was actively involved in civic work throughout town for more than 100 years. The club disbanded shortly after its 100th anniversary.
